"The Women Advocacy Center", now the Center for Civic
Legal Initiative
There is a change in the scope and the name of the Women
Advocacy Center.
Compliant to the organization vision, the Steering Board, upon
its Decision dated 08 November 2004, decided on a change, by
extending the mission of the Center, which receives a new name.
After ending the registration procedures in the Tirana District
Court, the Women Advocacy Center receives the following name:
"THE CENTER FOR LEGAL CIVIC INITIATIVES"
The mission of the center is:
The Center aims at increasing the civic access to legal
initiatives through:
- Offering legal and psycho-social services for the poor
nationals and in particular for women.
- Taking part and leading civic initiatives for improving
legislation
- Participation in preparing draft-laws and state policies
based on gender-equality
- Intermediation and lobbying for building efficiency and
democratization of the justice system through studies,
monitoring and generalization of the best legal practices.
