The Center for
Legal
Civic
Initiatives (CLCI) is an Albanian non-for-profit
organization, and a co-developing organisation of DOVA. Together with
Rights for Change, CLCI will launch DOVA, the human rights assessment
instrument in Domestic Violence, in Albania.
MAIN
ACTIVITIES
Legal
aid for
the
groups in need, in particular for the violated women and violence at
home and outside it, trafficked women and poor women through legal
counseling, editing of acts, their representation in the Court, or,
where appropriate, before public of private
institutions.
The
lawyers of
the Center are members of the Bar of Tirana, and they offer:

Psycho-social
aid for all the people seeking aid from the Center and from its staff.

Monitor
activities of the justice bodies with the aim of ensuring enforcement
of laws and practices followed by the justice system, in the profit of
citizens, in particular of women and girls that are faced with
gender-based violence.

Monitoring
of
enforcement of laws and by-laws seen in the practice of protection of
the constitutional rights and freedoms and in the gender perspective.
-
Preparation
of reports: alternative reports or informative reports for various
issues. Our Center is a co-author of the alternative OMCT report on
implementation of the United Nations Convention against Torture.

Civil
legal
initiative, with the aim of improving the legal framework and
institutional practices as well as cooperation with other organizations
on these activities.
-
Activities
for the legal education of citizens, with the purpose of building their
public awareness on enjoying and protecting their legal and
constitutional rights.

violated women and girls who profit legal and psycho-social services

of the justice system, profiting from our cooperation in treating legal
problems and issues through court practices and participation in
training courses.

the Faculty of Justice, through practices and participation in the pro
bono teams.

Non-governmental
organizations working in Albania, who profit from our cooperation and
training courses of a legal nature.

Other
interest groups, such as the new mothers, pregnant women, women heads
of family; members of the agricultural households, students, and others
who profit from the activities on legal education and public
awareness-raising.
